Dilatation & Currettage/Hysteroscopy Procedures

D&C is a procedure offered in our Surgical Suite which is indicated at times after a miscarriage, or to help in diagnosing causes for abnormal vaginal/ uterine bleeding. The uterus is cleaned out and tissue sent to pathology. Sedation is utilized to provide comfort for you. Hysteroscopy is also offered and provides direct visualization of the inside cavity of the uterus and cervix with a narrow camera. It is indicated as well to assess abnormal bleeding and to assist in removal of retained IUD's, polyps and abnormal tissue. These two procedures are often done together and recovery time is minimal.
